04/27/2022 09:26PM Sounds like a great trip, which we have done. Fishing Russell is generally excellent and Chatterton is super for Walleyes. Lots of options for day trips. |

02/20/2022 06:19PM Thanks! This is pretty darn close to our current plans. We are tentatively going in Nym with plans to get on the water early morning so we can make it down to Russell to set up base camp. Thinking we will try to grab a horseshoe island site. From the basecamp we have good fishing options around chatterton falls as well as the maligne river area on the north side of russell where it flows into sturgeon, and maybe explore the sturgeon narrows to the southwest. Question- do we stay at Russell basecamp the whole trip and reverse our route back to Nym? Or do we make it a clockwise loop and spend a few nights over near the northern bay of Sturgeon immediately below Lonely lake and then make our return trip out via Lonely, Walter, etc? Appreciate anyone’s $0.02! |

02/19/2022 05:08PM Nym to Sturgeon and Chatterton Falls are great fishing and an easy 6-7 day trip... You get to see a lot of beautiful places on the way.. |

02/14/2022 06:42AM Unfortunately the Crane lake customs station is closed so the north entry points are your only option. |

02/13/2022 11:38AM Normally there would be all sorts of great trip options, but with the RABC process shut down you are limited to clearing customs either at Crane Lake, or enter the Q from the north. |

02/12/2022 11:16AM Hi all, Looking for some suggestions for Q trip options. Been on ~10 BWCA trips and only 1 prior Q trip in 2019 (Beaverhouse EP to Jean lake basecamp). COVID de-railed our return to Q in 2020 and 2021. We have 7 days/6 nights in late May - Early June. 4 guys, all youngish…I’m the oldest at 36. We prefer to push hard the first day in and last day out so we mostly basecamp and fish hard every day. For fishing, spend most time targeting Walleye, SMB, LT. Appreciate any recommendations you all might have. Thanks in advance! -Brennan |
