Yeah I get they're protected. But they make nests in people's yards....do those people not get to park in their driveway or go outside ever?

There's a nest on a tree that overhangs a lake we fish in MN. People idle past and take pictures and watch for little ones all the time. There aren't buoys in the lake saying stay 500 feet away or anything. We have hundreds of eagles here along the Miss River in winter. They don't close the river or parks along the river.

If I recall correctly, isn't that section of the campground road fairly narrow and unavailable for parking and unloading? I might be thinking of the spurs that run off it, though."

I think it would work OK if you didn’t linger. People park there to fish below the falls sometimes.

There are thousands of eagles in MN, seems odd to close an entry point for that. I camped at Trail's End a few years back right under an active eagle's nest. The chicks were making a high-pitched call for food constantly. The mother was bringing them cleaned fish carcasses almost non-stop all day.

I remember a few years ago a campground loop was closed for a few months on the west side of Trails End so the eagles could nest.

That would be interesting if eagles decided to build a nest by a popular entry point like Mudro or Moose Lake.

Eagles are protected by their own federal statute. The feds take that mandate very seriously.

The national bird has decided to build a nest at Trails End Campground. This has resulted in the temporary closure of the Seagull Lake Canoe Launch, which will complicate things for people entering the BWCAW at Seagull. Until the order is lifted, your only practical alternative with a Seagull entry permit is to use the Blankenburg Landing.
