Toboggan turned out great! Made a trip to Tuscarora last February for some lakers. Still have a 10' UHDP blank if anyone is interested in building one. $100

I would be interested in getting a ripped UHMW blank or two for future builds Currently building Lure of the North 10' from their kit and not sure if I have time for another build this year.

I did this a couple years ago and posted a thread with photos over on the Winter Camping Symposium forum. Here's a link...

I’ve also posted some images that might help someone building a new toboggan. Here are some of them from when I built mine. I’m happy to answer questions if they come up.

I’ve built a bunch of sleds like this. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you're in the Twin Cities area and appriciate a winter DIY project or two, perhaps you'd like to build your tobaggan at the same time as me building mine. Really just acquiring, planning, and sharing materials and knowhow, not necessarily building them in person together (though I'm open to that if it makes sense). I live in the north Metro area and I'm looking to build a BWCA tripping sled. I've looked at the black river and lure of the north builds and would like to make something similar.

I've been looking at a 10' HDPE or UHMW build. This would allow for 9' or so of packable space. I'm flexible on the length if it's overkill or not likely to be enough. There are some plastics manufacturers down in the cities here that could rip a couple few blanks for a co-builder and I. We could share cost and labor on certain parts of the rig. I've got a good amount of hardware and tools.

Let me know if you're interested!
