Basecamp ideas within 2/3rds day of Saganagons?

Not a ton of info out there on the lake, but what I saw sounded promising, with the scenery being a commonly mentioned theme. How's fishing there? I would think getting on some LT would be desirable, as we will be focused on Walleye on Kawnipi. Anything else we should know about it, or the lakes en route?
