Here's a thread from a few years ago discussing sand beaches Might help you find some inspiration.

For the leeches, the best defense I've found is to bring my friend who is an absolute leech magnet -- they go after her and leave the rest of us alone! But maybe someone else will chime in with an easier to execute plan...

I am looking for a nice 5-day loop (okay to basecamp a day or two if need be) that would be friendly for swimmers. To that end, since we are going in June, thinking smaller lakes would be warmer.

I've had issues with suckers/leeches in the past and it seems kind of random which lakes are a problem and which aren't, but I can't seem to find a lot of notes about this. Would love lakes that have nice rock or sand campsite beaches, too, but that's just a bonus. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
