03/28/2023 10:40AM I had to laugh at bobbernumber3's comment. I have experienced the same. Number 3 and 5 mepps spinners have worked well for me. Black fury is my go to. Good luck and have fun. |

03/23/2023 03:34PM It's almost always best to use your confidence lures and colors, that way you spend less time switching lures when you don't catch something after the first pass or two :) We fished Antoine for LT primarily at the end of May last year during a day trip. We caught LT on inline spinners that we allowed to sink for 5-10 seconds, pearl flukes with a little weight, but mostly on deep husky jerks, shad raps, and 20 ft taildancers. Colors on the cranks were purpledescent, firetiger, gold/black, and a pink and tan/cream one. So basically everything worked as long as it was fished 10ft or deeper. |

03/23/2023 03:19PM Well there are a zillion to choose from. Guys and gals that fish way more than me will tell you that they prefer different colors on different days. I’m a minimalist so I don’t take much fishing gear. I have a perch colored shad rap for just about everything. If they ain’t biting on that, they ain’t biting. I have a bluish/cyan colored deep diver rapala for lakers. And I use a silver floating minnow rapala with a long leader and some tungsten weights to get it down for lakers in the summer. I seem to eat fish when I want to so take that to the bank. Tom |

03/23/2023 12:02PM Our group will be fishing the Pickerel Lake area in early/mid June down to McDougal, through the B chain, Antoine, Olifaunt, etc. I have my go-to lure selection for the trip, but I'm looking for guidance on lure color selection. Does anyone have recommendations on lure color or specific lures that are proven in the area? We will do a little bit of everything from trolling, cast/retrieve from the canoe, cast/retrieve from shore, etc. We will target walleye and lake trout. Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you!
