I'm literally laying in my bed at the Pine Ridge Motel in Crane Lake as I type this. The motel is perfect for the night before the trip. It is directly across the street from Anderson's Outfitter. Mark Anderson spent a half an hour going over my maps with me tonight for our 7am tow tomorrow morning. Mark has been doing this his whole life and he knows his stuff. Just give him a call. Ask him to plan everything so that you can simply show up. I guarantee he will plan a good trip for you. He is very responsive even during the peak paddle season.

I've used 5 different outfitters since 1980, Mark is the best.

Hey Travis. Along with the previous posts, I can confirm that Anderson’s is a great outfitter. Used them several times and never had a problem.

Used them once for a McAree permit. Two thumbs up. We got upgraded from bunkhouse to the cabin across the road partly because of our group size. Got dropped off because we were doing a point to point going down to Prairie Portage and they offered to let us use their personal car to run down the road for dinner at the Pine Point Lodge. That is small town hospitality.

We have used Anderson's for a number of years. We rent canoes and get the tow to our entry point. He runs a top notch service and the hotel across the road in convenient for the night before. We have always been completely satisfied with Mark and his crew.

I have used them for 35 years when his Dad Bob ran the business, then the boys Carl and Mark and now Mark and I agree with everyone else. Top notch operation!!!!!!!

Mark is great. He's got a very professional outfit there at Crane Lake. There is a hotel that I think his sister runs right across the street from his store. I've stayed there a couple of times and it was perfect, well run.

+1 Plander is spot on about Anderson’s.

Mark Anderson’s operation is TOP NOTCH. Convenient location, towing to several Quetico entry points, Pine Ridge Hotel across from office for overnight, offer great breakfast sandwiches before your tow, routing and fishing spots provided, and showers available after your trip.

I've used them for close to 20 years and think they are awesome. Mark is great. The tow is fantastic. Simple but efficient operation. They have a little motel across the street (Pine Ridge?) for the night before. They will give you any level of guidance/support you want. I'd say the most common EPs for them to drop-off/pick-up customers are 43 (McAree) and 44 (Bottle). Typical lakes they suggest for their Q routes include McAree, Darky, Argo, Roland chain, Crooked, Iron.

Does anyone have any experience with Anderson Outfitters? Normally I really enjoy the route planning and logistics of a trip but this year I am not feeling it. I want to show up at the outfitters with my pack, be handed a map and canoe and just go. I ran across Anderson and was hoping for some feedback from someone that has used them before. Will be my first trip into Quetico if that matters. Thank you in advance for any input.
