Another option is to portage into lake 4. There are 4 campsites close by. If by chance all 4 are occupied, take the short paddle up into the north arm of 4 where there are a couple more.

This would make a really easy out with two short portages to the ep.

This leaves you with 6-7 campsites as options. Bound to be a couple open for the taking.

Thanks for the tip. As always, we will just roll with the flow, if it ends up being busy, we'll just add on the dark. We're leaving ourselves sometime just in case you.

I’ve passed through Hudson three times over the years, and it’s never been busy. It’s only 10-12 miles or so and a handful of short portages from the Lake One EP, so I’m sure it does occasionally get busy. Just haven’t seen it busy myself personally. I’ve camped on Fire Lake once. I suspect it’s not usually that busy, but the one time we camped there we were one of three groups camped on Fire that night.

Entering on Snowbank next Thursday and paddling around Thomas, Frazer, Kek and wherever else we feel like fishing/exploring. Exiting out of Lake One 8-9 days later. My question is I would like to get to at least Hudson our last night to allow for a shorter paddle on exit day. I know the closer you get to the EP (especially Lake One) the base campers have pretty much locked every site up. So, I am wondering others experience in Fire Lake/Hudson? Any thoughts on how busy those areas might be for a mid afternoon arrival? I know lots of factors, just curious for those of you who may have tried to find a last night exit site in that area?

I've only been in the Numbers once and that was in mid October during Covid so there was not much pressure anywhere.
