I agree with the western site on the island. Multiple levels with multiple good pads. Here is a pic from tent one morning

We liked the site on the East closest to the river and Crooked.

Personally I think the best is the one on the all island at the north end of Peterson Bay…

Thanks,
Have stayed at one South of falls. It is busy but nice. Never stayed on the island. Will check that out.

I like the first one south of the falls, as well as the one on the west end of the island which is directly across from that sight. I think they are 2 of the best. They do get heavy use. With just 2 of you almost any of the sights may be great for you. There is supposed to be a nice sight in the southern end, I haven't stayed there. Avoid the sight in the southwest corner.

We have camped at a couple campsites on Iron in the past but wanted input on what folks think are the best campsites on Iron Lake.
My wife and I want to take a few more trips into the BWCA before we physically can’t go on our own anymore. We figured a tow to Bottle Portage and then spend 5 or 6 days on iron would fit the bill.
