06/27/2009 09:54PM Tom T, Yes, Dixie rides on the pack behind the bow person the entire time. She really rides better there than on the floor, where she strains to see forward. When it's very windy/wavey, she rides on the floor in front of my feet in the stern. Her feet have never been a problem. She's more graceful on the portages than the people. I always bring a first aid kit for her including benadryl, coated aspirin, and coban tape. It is really nice to move every day but have time to relax and enjoy the new places. :-) |

06/27/2009 02:51PM Very nice report! I did a similar loop a couple years ago. I love the relaxed nature of the trip. Move every day but don't travel too far. Still have time to enjoy the day after setting up camp. Very cool. I'm thinking of taking my Aussie on this years trip but like you, don't have a lot of room in the canoe. Was your dog riding on the packs the whole time? How were her feet? Any cuts from the rocks? |

06/19/2009 01:49PM Nice to hear you had a good trip. That's a nice area. I would like to know a bit more about your dog if that is possible. I have the same condition as you and such a service dog is something I never heard of before. Perhaps an email would be in order if you are ok with this? |
