06/06/2011 07:43AM Thanks for the Trip Report and photos. Really enjoyed them. I am glad you had amazing weather and fishing. The four people that didn't go with you this year must feel awful. |

06/01/2011 10:54AM thlipsis29 - No worries, it was pretty much spotless when we got there. Noticed some fish bones by the canoe landing on the south side, but they looked pretty old. There was a little green hand shovel left by the fire grate too. We used it to clean out the fire/ash, and left it there for the next folks. Glad you had a good time too! We'll go back to this area, we loved it. |

05/31/2011 04:28PM Sloth, I hoped we had everything picked up for you. FYI: Someone else left the fish remains on the south side of the camp in the water, but I think some gulls were finally cleaning them up. Looked like it was a pretty good sized northern someone cleaned and then just dumped right there. That's the sort of garbage I just don't get. |

05/31/2011 01:43PM Great report. Funny, we were just there last week, and stayed at the exact same site! What a difference a week makes though. This area was very busy last week. |

05/30/2011 04:17PM Bannock, What had me a little concerned about the trout population is that we spotted a 32"-36" northern in the lake along with the bass, and I've heard horror stories about northern getting introduced to trout lakes out west and decimating them. Admittedly, I don't know squat about managing a fish population, but I'd have a hard time believing that the pike don't enjoy a nice trout dinner. |

05/29/2011 10:37PM Great report. Has anyone ever caught a trout on Conchu?! I, too, have seen the largemouth there. I have fished for trout there because it is a designated stream trout lake, but nothing. For more than 15 years, I have read reports and talked to others, but I have never heard of anyone catching a trout on Conchu. |

05/27/2011 04:39PM If you go to the map section on BWCA.com and place the cursor on the red campsite dot, a site number will appear. I don't know if these are USFS campsite numbers or what, but I've found them to be very helpful when helping others identify/locate a specific site. |

05/27/2011 03:56PM Sweet trip man. All that calm water is making me salivate. I'm a bit lost about site 1148. Is there a way to search this place by site number? |
