The trail is flat, plus there is a campsite right when you get to the lake so you wouldn't have to try and pull your camping gear around on the lake. I have heard some horror stories about travel on the lakes recently. |

02/23/2014 06:33PMquote walleye_hunter: "Daniels is a pretty lake and contains plenty of little lake trout. It was one of my dad's favorite lakes so I have logged countless hours on it each winter fishing for trout. There is a winter access trail from the Clearwater Lake Road to Daniels. It is basically part of the Border Route Trail and an old RR spur but the BWCA does not start until close to Daniels Lake. The trail is a bit over a mile long and usually nicely packed from snowmobiles, skiers, snowshoes, etc. You should be able to find some little lakers on the points and by the little islands. " Been a few years, but I remember running into a individual while on West bearskin who talked about a semi older individual who loved to fish Daniels in the winter. |
