06/28/2014 08:10AM Carmike, How far up in there did you get to? Up in there to the left (northwest) there's a "narrows" that's walleye-friendly, and up the right side there's supposed to be a 4-star camp with a sand beach. (Of course high water had some beaches submerged.) I hope to get up in there some day with my son-in-law. --Goose |

06/27/2014 09:18PM Yep, that was definitely us. One Penobscot 16 and one Minnesota II. Man, that wind funnels down those long east-west lakes. We had planned to do some more adventurous daytrips, but that northern bay was about the only place we could get to without lots and lots of paddling into a strong headwind. There is some good fishing up there, so all was not lost. :) |
