Bring a 5 gallon bucket, Walmart bag, and she can answer nature's call in the 80 degree tent! While you wait outside, of course.

Here's some food for thought; spending $1,200-1,500 for a tent and stove seems like a lot, especially when compared to other summer tents. However, at least for me, it was the single large expense required to radically changed my winter camping experience. In my opinion, the difference from cold to hot tenting is much greater than the difference of going from an aluminum canoe to a kevlar. And OF57, in case it's ever helpful, answering nature's call is far easier when you are going to return to a tent that's 80 degrees inside!

I thought the rental fees were pretty high, $70-80 a day for a tent/stove, wouldn't even have to do a month, you would be golden in less than 3 weeks :)

Yes, I know. Her beef with winter or cold weather camping is going to the bathroom and having to drop her pants in the cold. Us guys are very lucky we don't have to do it all of the time.

I see this tent went for $999.00. Not too bad. I thought about bidding on it last night, however my wife suggested we think about renting one from someplace first to see how it works out and if we want to invest that much into a winter camping tent and stove. So at least I have her thinking about us doing it.

Anyone looking for a new Snowtrekker tent and stove may want to check out this online auction for charity. There's a chance of a pretty sweet deal while helping out people in need.

Auction ends on 9/13/14.
