Here is an image. Williams is north of the new washout, so won't be back there unless they fix the road.

IceColdGold; I tried to find out where Williams Lake was on a topo map of the Harmon Lake area and cant seem to locate it. Could you possibly post a map or give me some GPS cords?,you can email me if you want to. I know the road that goes by the NE bay on Harmon is dozed out north of there about ????10 miles north. FRED

Nice report, Thanks Fred

I have been up to this area three times fishing out of Grumman Sport Boats with small motors. I would like to get back up there and paddle some time. The three trips I was on, we went to Williams lake a bit north of Harmon. The lake is shaped like a man. The road in can be long. It's 83 Miles to Williams lake. 3 to 4.5 hours depending on the shape of the road.

If anyone has questions about getting there, let me know.

Thanks for the report Fred. Good to hear your description of the Park and the good fishing there. Wishing I had the time at Wing Night to accept your offer to take the Black Lady for a spin. Maybe next year.

Paddle on.

Great report and thanks for sharing. Your canoe is even purdier in person! I'm still dreaming about owning one myself.

Jim; I don't know if you are planning on going into Wabakimi or not [and I really don't know a whole bunch about that area but I think if you can get hold of someone from the Wabakimi project they would be a great help in getting you information, I belong to the Wabakimi thread and they said to contact them for any help. I talked to Phil Cotton last year at Canoecopia and he said it would be close to 3 years before the Project would be down on the south end of the park [I'm sure that could change] personally at my age I'm not sure I would want to go in there but there's some pretty rough areas of the BrightSands River I intend to visit/revisit in the next few years. The way we go in it's way cheaper than fly-in. If you want to chat about that area give me a call at 507-696-5401, and I will tell you what I know [what I don't know I make up] FRED

Thanks. As I have said a few times...this area intrigues me. It seem is could be a very inexpensive trip if I can drive right in.

nice report, and thanks for letting me drool over it at the
fall wing nite weekend

I drooled over the deep creek at copia last year. Looks like an excellent boat. Thank Tracy for us. Nice report.
FOG51 10/28/2014 01:30AM
First off I want to thank my youngest daughter [Tracy} for putting her life on hold to get this trip report out for me, it would have taken me forever to get it out on my own. I did notice on the last day I said "when the wind died the wind howled" what I meant to say " is when the rain stopped the wind howled". The Dark Lady is a Savage River Deep Creek Solo in their Tech-Treme layup, carbon and kevlar, weighs 29 pounds, extremely stable, cruises well, handles rough water well, with the sliding seat trimming Her is no problem, and handles small creeks well, might not turn quiet as quick as some canoes but I haven't had any problem with the handeling, stable loaded or empty, The more I get to paddle this canoe the more I like Her. FRED

bwcasolo 10/27/2014 05:49PM
