05/27/2015 09:15AM The first lake after the 42 rod portage from Argo has lake trout. Fish off the rocks just north of the portage to Cone. Cone is also a Lake Trout lake. Elk is a great lake for SM & LT. Bays on northwest/west are really good for bedding SM. Troll for LT between the two campsites on the points. |

05/27/2015 07:35AM Thank you all for the help, much appreciated. There are a handful of small, unnamed lakes Northeast of Argo and East of Darky, some need to be bushwacked into. Anyone tried those? |

I fished it really hard for walleyes, caught a million SMB and Pike, but not one walleye. I brought this up to a few folks here afterward, and they told me they also didn't think Wicksteed had them. We could be wrong, but I'd look in Crooked, Brent, Darky before I'd try to find one in Wicksteed. TBL |

05/26/2015 10:23AM Middle Roland (north shore between portage & campsite), Crooked (north side of Sunday Bay & below Curtain Falls), Darky & Ballard (2 points on north / northwest shore). Ballard would be my number one choice, especially with a south wind. |

05/25/2015 10:29PM Our group will be in Quetico June 10-20, we're planning to spend at least two nights on Argo. Any lakes nearby that hold walleyes that we could day trip to? Any help would be awesome! |
