quote OldFingers57: "Heading to the French Lake EP this year and will try Beaverhouse next year. "
Now that is a sound solution!

They can both be busy by Quetico standards but once away from the entry neither is busy. Depending on your physical condition I say go for the B chain. It is beautiful but a bit of a challenge that "old fingers" may not be able to handle in future years. Traveling from Pick to Oli is the right direction for sure.

We entered at Stanton during the end of August last year. Did the B Chain, but we CAME OUT back at French. The trip was amazing and I would go back and do it again. We love solitude and the fishing was VERY good. The only thing that I would change is not to put-out back at French. There were far more people, crowds even, at the eastern end of Pickerel, and the French River - though scenic - felt at times like the Cross Bronx Expressway. The advantages to French (it is never simple, right?) are the campground (we pulled in late and camped there our last night) and the visitor center (which is worth seeing). Never been to Beaverhouse, unfortunately. Good luck!

I'd have to say a Beaverhouse entry would be better. Some friends entered at Stanton Bay last September and were amazed how many people they saw. Also, French Lake is where the Park HQ/Visitor Center is located and the put in is only a stone's throw from the public parking lot. Beaverhouse has no facilities and there is a 100 rod portage from the parking area to the put in.

I've done both and they're each fairly lightly travelled. You'll probably see a little more activity in the French Lake area, but nothing that I would consider off-putting. Both are great routes.

I did Beaverhouse, Cirrus, Kasakokwog, Quetico, Beaverhouse, going in Labor day, and maybe saw 5 other groups (all tandems) in 5 days.

I doubt either area would be busy then.

Could depend on when you're going.

I'm looking at going in at two different areas and wondering which area is busier?

I'm looking at either going in at French Lake and doing a loop down thru the B Chain and down to Olipahnt and Sturgeon and up thru Twin and Dore lakes and back to French.

OR going in at Beaverhouse and doing a loop up thru Quetico and Cirrus and maybe Kasakokwog Lake.
