During my years of living near Warba, MN I was able to acquire some special and unique handle materials.
I did manage to get a nice selection of Black Ash Burl. This is then dried over a few years and professionally chemically stabilized with an acrylic polymer, like nearly all my woods.
I had an old neighbor there request a knife for her son's 18th birthday.
I made the Damascus in my Crushed and Laddered Ws pattern and built it in a take-down assembly.
