The first picture shows the three major components in the knife construction.
A block of African Black Wood.
A small piece of 1903 wrought iron for the guard.
A billet of the three pieces used to forge the blade - one center core of 1095 high carbon tool steel and a 1/4" piece of 410 stainless steel forge laminated to each side.
