Hey all, I'm Mike. 35 from the NW burbs of MPLS. I went to the BWCA in 2001. My one and only trip. I would love to go back. But I don't have anyone to go with. Married, kids, work, etc. Lol. Just kind of throwing a flag out there as to how to go about finding people to tag along with next summer. Thanks a bunch! Since then I have been in the southern areas many times. Sawbill, Four Mile, Windy, etc.

Welcome aboard Mike. Good luck on finding canoeing partners. Many here have done this and made lasting friendships.

Thanks. I have experience in the area, but would rather not go alone.

Welcome. There is a trip partner forum you may want to post on. Best of luck!

Welcome! Best site ever. Good folks here. The best advice. Some laughs. Some differing opinions. Spend the majority of your waking hours here with us. :-)

Yes, seems to be a great place. I love to chat and daydream about the Northwoods.

How old are your kids? Maybe some short trips with them? Wife not a camper? Maybe trip find another person with kid(s) and travel together? Just ideas and such. I brought my kids on some trips quite young. On the same note, a good trip with a or some people with same interest in maybe traveling a bit more would be possible too. So by all means, just be careful... I heard some of us are a little weird or something. Haha.
Welcome! It’s fun to see younger generations getting the bug...

Welcome! I certainly understand how time can fly by, next thing you know you it's years since you went to some favorite place.
In addition to the trip partner finder forum previously mentioned, I would recommend going to Canoecopia in Madison in March. There you will run into people from this and other BW/Q boards and that can give you an even better feel for people you'd enjoy tripping with.

Ditto, nothing I like better than talking about and reading about the BWCAW outside of being there or in a canoe somewhere.

Welcome!

Thanks for all of the replies. Just to clarify, I'm single with no kids. In my OP, I meant that all of my outdoors buddies are now locked into the domestic life. Lol.

Saw your post in "Trip Planning"; you might also want to post in Trip Partner forum

Good luck.
