Looking for any feedback for Lake Agnes.
Going the 2nd week of June.
Looks like a good fishing lake.
But has a ton of campsites.
Is this lake typically crowded?
Is it a challenge to get to the lake?

I’d say it’s pretty easy to get to, unless you have a strong north wind blowing. Despite the numerous campsites, they do fill up quickly. Twice our group got the last campsite on the lake. But I attribute that to arriving late afternoon. Get an early start and you shouldn’t have a problem. We’ve caught lots of walleyes and decent pike all around the lake. Fish below the rapids where Agnes drains into the Boulder River and you’ll catch plenty.

Busy? Usually. Reliable walleye? Yes. Challenge? 5 portages but none that are bad at all. Usually a few beaver dams to pull over, especially on the Nina Moose R. (One year, it was six; last year, none.) ~3-1/2 hrs from the EP to the south end of the lake. Another 1/2 hr to the north end where we like to base camp, making it an easy jump up to Lac La Croix for a day trip to the pictographs. If we get to the north end by 12:00-1:00, we usually have our pick of sites. This is in late July/early August.

I go there normally the last week in may, have always had a great fishing trip. Trip isn't bad. Trails are warn good. Walleyes, pike and crappies every year. have always been able to find a site. Hasn't always been first choice, but have really enjoyed each site. Last year it was really hot out, bugs weren't bad. Going to try and make it the first week in June.

I have been going in on EP16 since 2004. Last time we were in there was 2014. I just seemed to be really busy on Lake Agnes, always went up the first week of June. Never had a problem finding a campsite on Agnes, just maybe not the one we wanted. We always tried for camp site 1804 on the far NE end. 1805, and 1806 are not good sites. 1803 seems nice but have never stayed on it. We always tried to into Boulder Bay and stay on one of the island sites, but can a long day paddle if one of those is not open. Find that the fishing is better there, especially when the wind blows, you can get out of it there. The whole NE side East of Agnes is good walleye and crappie fishing in June. We've been on 1803 and 1804 a few times over the years. Comparable, but I might give the edge to 1803.

When it comes to campsites, what makes a good campsite for me is often different than others, as I use a hammock system with tarp instead of a tent, and my friend uses a tent. So we don't need space for several tents, but I need some decent trees.

Of course a good landing for the canoe is a plus, and fishing opportunities from the shore is a bonus.
