Anyone drill some holes in the BWCA recently? What kind of ice thickness have you found?

About 25 to 30 inches of ice, lots of which is frozen slush.

Just did a trip from Moose to Saganaga over the weekend and drilled holes on a bunch of lakes to get water. Ice was always in the range of 2 to 3 feet as long as you were not near moving water. Lots of the streams in-between lakes have open water and thin ice.

Wow travel conditions must of been very good. How many nights? Dogs or skiis.
Done about half way,but always skiied back same way on camping trip. Some awesome winter beauty.
