I'm heading out of Lake One out probably no further than Hudson/Fire lake....only have a couple days to fish this time (paddling on either side). With the cooler weather, any tips on areas/patterns to key in on? Planning on walleye fishing, maybe getting after smallmouth. Definitely planning on jigging/ using jerk baits (slow) on them (if that's what it takes). The extended forecast is looking kind of cool and gloomy. I might portage over into Insula one of the days. Just a quick 4 day trip on the numbered lakes. If I had more time I'd go a lot further out to Alice and points beyond.
I have never fished those lakes; but my guess is current/narrows/choke points, reefs or sunken islands, and wind blown shores. Most of my luck has been 15 ft. and under around that time.
