Gave Spring Creek a go on May 21st. Figured with the recent snow melt there would be plenty of water in the creek. Unfortunately I could not have been more wrong. To make matters worse I was to stubborn to accept that there wasn't enough water so I dragged my Phoenix across the swamp grass while my tripping partners dutifully tried to maneuver their 17 foot canoe through the shallow twisting creek to no avail. After an hour and a half of misery I came to my senses and called it off. It rained for two days and nights while we were on Angleworm and on our way out the Creek had barely risen. I would not suggest counting on this Creek as an alternate route to Sunday/Sterling Lake.

It took me a while to even find Spring Creek, but on a map, this certainly doesn't look navigable. But hey, no bushwhack, even a failed one, is ever a waste of time. At least that's what I tell myself...

The beaver never seem to want to dam it up and make it navigable, probably because there isn't enough food source along it.
