I'm heading into Wood lake on a 5 day solo trip I will head in on the 25th through the 29th just wondering if anyone has a fishing report from Wood? Could be doing a day trip to Good Lake or Indiana as well. Any and all info is appreciated!

I was gonna do that trip in May, but it was in the 30's so I said the hell with it. In my experience, which is limited, Wood is a better fishing lake than those others. If you want to make a day trip, go all the way to Basswood, in my opinion. You could get restless poking around Wood for 5 days, but it sounds pretty good right now. Hula can be a bear in low water. Good luck.

I fished Wood last Wednesday, the 19th. Caught a sucker, a northern, and a walleye. Sunny and calm conditions were my excuse. Wood is a good fishing lake... seems you have to fish the windy shores and points. The first half of the lake is shallow and weedy. After the narrows and campsite is where you will want to start.

Looks like I will see you in the parking lot on the 29th! Good luck!
My plan is 2 days on Wood, 2 days on Good, and 2 days on Indiana.

I did a winter trip to Wood Lake last winter and saw some guys pound the walleyes and northerns right where the lake starts to open up after the narrows. I just got back from indiana. We did really well on bass with jigs and gulp plastics. Worth the trip.

I actually sent your trip report to my 19 yo daughter. It will be her first time not-car-camping.
She was encouraged to see happy photos of the women on your trip. The fact that they were not eaten alive or miserable was very heartening for her.
