I need to sell my Sawyer canoe buthave no idea what it's worth.

It's a Sawyer 222 Kevlar Superlight (56 lb.) with a padded portage yoke and a pair of Kruger HR PowerStick carbon fiber paddles.

Condition is excellent. It's seen very little use over the years and never needed repairs, though there is a small fingernail-sized chip in the bow's gelcoat. I may repair the chip if the canoe is worth significantly more with it fixed.

Anyone know a ballpark price range? I'll have pictures tomorrow.

Just FYI there is a Facebook group for Sawyer canoes that may help you get a better price estimate and also expose the boat to Sawyer enthusiasts. Overall I'd guess the boat is worth between $1000-1500 and maybe more like $1200-1400. It's the best lay-up listed at 56 pounds so still manageable for a fast boat that can carry a big load. I've seen a few Sawyer solos in excellent condition sell recently for $800+ and they weren't super light Kevlar. I'd ask $1500. Once you get to $2k there are lots of choices in used canoes and there are lighter and newer options out there (but probably nothing faster). Of course the used canoe market is unpredictable. I suggest that you measure the paddles so you can advertise their length and sell them separately. I've never heard of them so if they are in great shape and also perform well they are rare and could be worth $100-$200 each to the right person(s). It sounds like they may be too good to just include with the canoe.

Just wanted to chime in that the 222 is the finest tripping tandem I've paddled. I've owned one for 35 years, but it's the all glass no foam lay-up and weighs in on the high side of 85#. It's fast, more seaworthy than anything I've been in. Capable of taking big whitewater and huge loads. Mine has been down the Bloodvein, the Kopka, the Gods, the Steel and more. Make sure you post your price here.
