I was considering selling some of my camping equipment but when I checked the recent prices on new equipment I realized that my prices can not compete.

Tents, backpacks, screen shelters, knives, canopies, sleeping pads, and other prices are low right now.

that tent is an excellent buy if you are looking for a car camping tent, but for BWCA, not so much. One door, a bit heavy for a two person tent.

Should people REALLY be putting up links to Amazon here?

Where is the link to Amazon, and why would it be a problem? There are links shared for Piragis, REI, Rutabaga, Red Rock, Duluth Pack store and countless others.

Adding a link for the sake of description is fine. I never have a problem with that.

Nice to see options - BUT, I DO NOT NEED any more equipment so, this is more like an impulse buying stimulus. Satan get the behind me. Oh, and out of my pocketbook!

The 9x9 Nemo Bugout is a damn good tarp. The quality has continued to impress me over the years....Damn, talking about it I wonder if I should buy another one lol. Many a rainy and buggy day spent under the Nemo.

Tomcat: "ZaraSp00K, It wasn't my intention to endorse a particular product or vendor I just thought I would post a few examples of the discount prices I came across while trying to decide pricing on similar items I was considering selling. There are many great discounts on camping equipment right now and I felt other members may be interested in searching or sharing. "

Cool, if the admin want to give free advertising for somebody in NJ on ebay, that's fine with me. You'd think in this day and age everyone was capable of Googling a tent, if that's what they want.

I found some nice deals too, but the way I figure it, the person who is capable of doing their own search deserves the deal more than the person who may not even have wanted the item, but is only buying on the spur of the moment because it's a deal.

Lighten up a bit. Nothing wrong with a bit of humor. Most all here should have enough sense to not actually buy because it is a deal. I would only buy that way if I thought I could resell an item for a profit at a garage sale or an other outlet. I do not think these companies are actually giving anything away.

What happened to the link? I googled "Nemo 9X9" and couldn't find it. I have purchased a lot of gear over the years from various vendors based on a recommendation and link from our fellow paddlers from this site. What was the name of the company?

Here ya go That's a steal of a deal and the tarp is amazing in quality. 9x9 works great for groups of around 5-6 but is a little cramped. Keeps the bugs away great!

Funny story about my 9x9 Bugout.....Never fails that a GIANTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT spider makes a home in one of the corners (which adds to the anti-bugginess of course). I'm so not about spiders it's not even funny......Maybe I can find a flamethrower on sale too?

Can you hang this Nemo over the firegrate, without worrying about the net starting on fire?

It would be nice to sit around the fire in the evening without slathered in dope and/or swatting.

thanks!

It's no-see-um netting. Setting it over a fire would be like having your own smoke sauna.

So, you are saying the no-seeum will smoke, even though it's 4ish feet away from the fire?

That doesn't sound right.

We always hang a 10x10 tarp over the fire, and I was hoping to replace it, using this.

Keeps the wood and whatnot dry during most rains.

I'm more worried about the occasional snap-crackle-pop ember landing on the no-seeum. No idea how flammable it is.

I don't think this would be wise. I put a CCS tarp over a fire and I hang it high, about 2-3 feet higher than I would normally. Unless you kept the skirts tied up (Nemo Bugout does have nice little straps to tie up the skirts) it'd be very dangerous to put a fire underneath it in my opinion.

No. I'm saying no-see-um netting doesn't offer that much airflow. It will fill with smoke and you will cough and your eyes will smart and you will have to flee the safety of your bug shelter for the mosquito filled night.

The netting offers a significant wind break- enough that it can be stifling on warm days or hot nights.

Ahh...didn't realize it was that much of a wind stopper.

Try it with a CCS bug shelter and the comparison is, well...no need to say more.
