We have two weeks in June and want a route that gives us a shot at catching the grand slam. Looking to travel a couple days in and base camp for five nights, then move to a second base camp for about five nights and back out. Walleye, pike and smallmouth are not the issue. It’s finding the largemouth and lake trout waters in close proximity.

I know Fisher Lake is chock full of largemouth bass. What other lakes have above average chance for largemouth bass that are also close to lake trout waters?

Grand slam plus one? Largemouth are in Birch just west of Knife. In Knife alone you can get a grand slam, and be one lake away from largemouth. (My wife did that last summer)

I'd spend a day trip on Birch but not base there. Base camp on Knife and if you move...you have a ton of options for your other base. Kek for the remainder....Ottertrack. Hanson or Ester. Heck, the north and south arms of Knife are big enough they could be 2 lakes. We spent a week in that area last year, if you do, pay for the tow across Moose. It's a huge time saver

As mentioned... Incorporate the South Arm of Knife Lake into the trip. You should be able to find good fishing for all species there, or very near there.

Although I've always done real well for LT on Agnes so one may not even need to go to Louisa.
