Neither more accurate or mush faster at obtaining a fixed location if already on. Much more accurate if it could use the other GPS network satelites like GLONASS that newer units can. Newer units have new operating systems that are faster starting up and quicker to load maps and pages, much more and faster memory, overall better functioning.
The Garmin 60 has been obsolete for more than 10 years. Still functional but old tech.

When you can get a "refurbished" Garmin 78s for $110 from gpscity on the major online retailer, why keep using an old model? I have two of them and they are exactly as new, as far as I can tell. Joe

From my experience, The GPSMap 66i is much faster than my older Garmins (an Etrex and a really old GPSMap). Moreover, it is more sensitive. I cannot say for sure about accuracy, but it seems to hold a tighter radius.
