I also love Fish ON-line, and use it quite a bit. I concur that it is mostly correct about species, but not always. I found two lakes in NW Ontario which were a bit off. One had smallmouth bass, despite the fact that Fish-ON did not list smallmouth as being present.
The other had walleye listed as being present, on a lake that I'm pretty sure is devoid of walleye.
But, for the most part Fish-ON has been extremely helpful, and usually pretty accurate.

I'm still getting used to it. For anyone else new to this tool, a helpful hint. The most useful stuff is found in documents labelled "Broad-scale Fisheries Monitoring Bulletin" in the "waterbody" tab under the "Additional Information" heading.
The only downer has been that some lakes just aren't there. I'm looking at Baril Lake which is just NE of the Quetico Park Chippewa campground. All the lakes surrounding it have a blue fish icon that you can click to get info, but not Baril.

Alright, so a new question for my friends versed in Ontario travel and fishing.
Say you're a US citizen with all the required paperwork -- passport, RABC, Ontario fishing license. You drive to Canada and you put your boat in the water on a border lake, like say Mountain. Or maybe you launch in Arrow and motor down into Rose. You gotta stay on the Canadian side of that lake with your motor, correct?
