Thanks to all of you. I have not been since about 1976 or before. First canoed the area about 1969, so a lot of what I remember may not be as accurate as I would like, but I loved it and have been canoeing and fishing ever since.

I love Ashland, ashlandjack. Sadly, I know Jack crap about any Jack in Ashland, but Ashland being what it is, I assume the very best.

I mean it doesn't have to be different. :) Most of my stuff is from the '70s. Well, not most, but food pack, canoes, and cookware.

Wow! What a great welcome. Thank you!

Yes, the gear is different. Now I am going to start acting like an old man telling old stories.

The first two times I went up, we used a WWII parachute for a tent. Wish I still had it. Fishing was simpler or the same. I took Rapalas, Daredevles, Mepps, Hula Poppers, steel leaders and a Mitchell 300 with fiberglass rod. Caught fish.

It may take some digging but some may have survived the years.

Ha! I had a friend whose tent was made out of a parachute.

Not much of a picture but you can see it with the latest high tech rain fly.
