I saw this ad on Facebook for a canoe for $250 OBO and the pictures showed it was a Wenonah. I took the drive and it was a MN3 kevlar with tractor seats bow and stern and woven middle seat. It even had the portage pads. Serial number said it was a 2008 model.
Looking at this canoe, it looks as if someone got possession of a canoe they shouldn't have. There are two small holes in the side, the top rails are dented as if something came down hard from above on them, and it has water marks where water was standing in the canoe from being stored outside. After loading the canoe on my truck, I told the guy that this canoe brand new is over $3000 and he about crapped his drawers.
I really didn't need this canoe, but felt it would be a great project trying to get it somewhere back to where it once was. I've never restored a canoe before, but really looking forward to it.
Wish me luck!

JATFOMike: "Nice Find FOFO!
Weren't you looking for a solo for awhile? Did you ever find one?
Mike"
I am taking my first solo trip, end of June. I was inquiring what would be better between two solo canoes, because those were the two options from Sawbill. I couldn't justify the cost of buying a solo verses renting.

Maybe see if you’d get a taker in the selling forum to do a swap deal. Mnlll for a wilderness or prism. Might get that guy who soloed but now has kids old enough and would need the upgrade. Most canoes I’ve seen out of Piragis have been in pretty good shape. The biggest reason I like the opportunity to get a used outfitters boat is the built in skid plates. I’ve had to repair them some. But when I could paddle, I really used my boats. Following Martin’s trails in Woodland Caribou was almost like a bushwhack trip. Apparently my body took the same abuse, but tossing on skid plates on me isn’t an option. Haha!
