I think it frustrates my friends, as much as me, when I haven’t been able to get out there paddling. Mark was determined that I was going this year and so I did. It was a little difficult because of pain issues and such, but it was pretty fun. Mark and Lisa have about as big of hearts as I’ve seen. They both worked very hard to make this all happen.
So thank you Mark and Lisa for putting up with me. To get out, I had loaded up on pain meds and got out fine, but oh, did I pay later! Haha! This wasn’t the first time I had people here do such a thing. In 2013, Suncatcher and Boppa nabbed me and off to Woodland Caribou we went...
Great community here... such great friends.

Glad you got out, see you on the 4th, looks like you had some good chefs with you also.
I just got out of Perent Lake today Ben, had to leave a day early, my canoe wouldn't float :-)
Kidding, it did fine despite that old back woods canoe repair shop in Goodland, it worked great on the Hog River. I passed up some speedier tandem canoes because of its cornering ability.

May the rivers be crooked and winding, and your portages lonesome, leading to the most amazing view.

You were probably shooting up rooster tails around the corners. Haha!

MHS67: "Hey Ben, your lucky I had to cancel my trip back there this year. If I would have made it I would of either dragged you out canoeing or helped work on your house or maybe both!!
Take care, Larry"
Boy Larry, I may be out your way this coming winter. I’m going to try the snowbird routine I think. Haha!
Maybe over Andy’s way... closer to Nevada I think.

I agree...hearts of gold!
It was really fun to run into you three at Rockwood's bunkhouse before our trips.
I stayed in until 5/31 and came out to the chaos. Mike at Rockwood warned me about the rioting when I pulled up to unload at their beach.
I spent the night at GrandmaL's cabin because I wasn't going to make it home before the curfew. I called out a "hello" to you as I drove through Goodland on my way there.

So that was you... the staff at Fred’s ask often. Why do people with canoes on their cars always yell “hey Ben” as they drive by. Hahaha! Now more and more go in to buy their favorite meats and just tell them to say hi. Haha!
Hanging out on the porch at Rockwood bunkhouse, is was very relaxing to hang out and compare notes. Hard times as when we come out of the woods we have no idea what has been happening and reentering into. Curfew? Quarantine? What next?
You, Lisa... so many here have made a life of caring for people as nurses and health care workers. My hat is off to you all! Thank you for all you do...
