Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that visit the BWCA these days that have no business being there due to lack of knowledge, respect for the environment, and general survival instincts/understanding that leads to unsafe and other situations. It breaks my heart when I enter and have to clean up and pack out more than I went in with. These days it occurs on every trip, and is not limited to campsites. I find myself cleaning up trash and other debris from entry points and portage trails as well.
