Tried to get a permit for boat in at Moose Lake, but all gone in five minutes. We had four people on the website. Something is going on. Anyone else have trouble?

I think the outfitters are getting permits early. I am a 75 year old, 40% disabled retired Marine and look forward to going to Basswood Lake through PP. Thanks.

I'm a regular Joe who was on at 9am sharp. Good wifi connection in the twin cities. I'm in charge of permits for my family and friend group, which adds up to roughly 2 full weeks of day dripping over the course of the summer. I got 13 permits over 2 transactions between 9 and 920. I had multiple chances at Basswood permits in the first 7 minutes, they were there for the taking. I was busy booking up less in-demand permits for family who rely on me, but I managed to get one Prairie Portage day motor permit for 3rd week of May.

Then for round two I focused on Fall Lake > basswood permits and I got 4 of them all between 9:08 and 9:10. So you can't say all the permits were gone in 4 minutes. If you had 4 people on at 9am sharp, you had a fair chance at basswood permits -- maybe not on your exact preferred date, but they were there for me?

I had the same experience. Was on a very fast computer, was early, kept hitting refresh, and boom, permits open. Did not even get a chance at a permit for opener, which I've been doing since 1994 (with the exception of last year Covid).
Something just seemed not right with the permits.

Went and got one permit for June, and by the time I filled it out, the Basswood permits were all gone!! Maybe the lottery was a better system???

Got a Basswood permit for May, was on right at 9. Went back on around 9:20 and they were mostly gone, nothing available until late July, found one for July 24 and nabbed it at 9:25. Both for EP 24. Happy to get 2 permits!

I guess I should have been more specific as to entry point 25 overnight motor. Those permits were gone very fast. I agree with you as far as overnight paddle as I had no problem getting what needed but the EP 25 was a different story. Thank you for your comments and have a great time this summer.

I agree I like the lottery as I always seem to gey a permit for EP25 overnight motor. Thank you for you comments. Also, i talked to some of the smaller outfitters and they had same problem as I did and could not even get an day use motor permit for Moose or Fall.

Could I just show up in person at a ranger station to pick up a permit to go in that same day? Marc
