Buddy told me they were illegal in Minnesota.
I bought one to use in a lake in Iowa. Just curious it is legal to fish with.set it in a bucket of water for camp light

As long as the bucket is in the boat or on the dock or on shore or on the ice... sure.

Odd question. I fish with underwater lights in Missouri for crappie, all summer long, and catch limits most every night. I do wonder how it would work in waters that held walleye. But why would you ask if it was ok to put an underwater light in your bait bucket?

No, I thought a camp light. Instructions say to immerse in water to keep the heat from blowing the LEDS
I used it the other night for a couple hours an noticed very little drain.

Thanks all . I think I got my answer. Just thought I'd get a quick hit here since I didn't have a Minnesota fishing regs book handy.

Shock.
This is the battery I use.
The lake in Iowa is lost Grove. Getting to be known as a night bite.
I'll report back in a week or so as soon as this blasted cold weather dissipates

I never knew folks use lights when ICE fishing!
My lights are 48" florescent green lights. When they finally die, I will switch to the green LED lights.
