FYI-for those travelling Echo Trail to reach EP's. There may be some delays due to road construction this season. Information from St. Louis County and Ely Echo

" Echo Trail: Reclaim and overlay 4.9 miles from County 88 to half mile north of Passi Road. Construction dates June 1 to July 17"

After they're done there, they should repave highway 2 from 2 harbors to where it hooks up with highway 1.
Bumpiest road I've ever bumped on.

Agreed, that route is very quiet and straight. But very rough in spots for a paved road.
