Wenonah Wee Lassie – 10’6? Aramid Special. Has anyone tried this canoe I know it is a tad small but would be good for a 4 day solo. Has anyone tried to portage it? Your thoughts and knowledge are much appreciated.

Not impossible, but you'd have to pack like an ultralight backpacker, and be on the shorter/lighter end of the spectrum.

And then you have to know that while portaging a 16 lb canoe would be awesome, paddling it might be challenging. For a route with very small lakes and long portages, it could be the ticket.

Edit: just looked at the specs, and the bow/center/stern height measurements are 14.5", 10" and 14.5". Any wind / waves will be an issue.

I have the Pack 13.6 that Blatz mentioned and I could not imagine doing a trip in anything smaller.

The description indicates it is best for "tranquil lakes and gentle rivers"...wouldn't work for me to be limited like that.

Your weight and expected load is one criteria. I'd guess this over 225-250 total would start to push limits. It is an inefficient design, requiring more work fir same distance traveled at less speed. Ponds, slow streams, swamps, etc. is its forte. Great for fishing andduck hunting as well.

How do you like this canoe?

It is not a simple question to answer. For what it is I love it. An ultralight weight canoe at 23#s capable of a week long trip. It is very comfortable, stable, and maneuvers great. My wife and kids (fight) to use this canoe. If my tripping style were to have a 70 liter or less portage pack, it would be ideal. I have a 121 liter portage pack, plus day pack which absolutely does not fit. I also like to stand up to see what is ahead on rivers as well as to poll. For this I have found a 15 foot canoe, 32 inches wide at the gunwales 44#or less to be ideal.
Your profile doesn't mention where you live, but if you are near the twin cities I have a lake a mile from my house you could take her for a test paddle in the Spring.
