Grand Sable Lake - Pictured Rocks

I was doing some research and I found that when you visit Pictured Rocks there is one actual boat in site in the whole park, good for canoes, on Grand Sable lake. They only allow one group there for 3 consecutive days.

Anyone ever been and visited?

If so, how was you time, is the site decent, are you able to access the hiking trails from there?
