June OM permits are all booked for EP 24 Fall. I was hoping to get. Anyone know any EP's close to Fall Lake for OM? Don't want to travel too far from Fall. Or am I out of luck...

I can't answer your question, sorry. But...I will make a suggestion for next year...reserve in January or ASAP. I use an outfitter (Seagull) and they acquire the permit for me.

Yes, I should've booked much sooner. Though I've never had a problem booking in April for OP. Even though I see OP's for my usual dates are booked too. I'm guessing more ppl are going up this year.

Motor permits have always been far more limited and faced far more competition than paddle permits. But yes, the popularity of the wilderness has risen in recent years.

The OM permits always go right away on the first day they are available. You should keep checking for available permits though. Just noticed permits available for Fall Lake OM for May 16, 17, 18 and 19, these dates had zero before, so cancellations do happen, it's worth keeping an eye on.

Pull an OP so you have that option? Then keep your eye out for a OM if one should come up. Or book a campground spot and day trip with the motor?

Book the OP then you at least can travel by C if you can't get a permit for your MB. Don't forget your PFD!

Looks like trout lake would be the closest available, but that's an hr. drive back to Lake Vermillion and them motor across the lake to the E.P./ portage
