What TZ said.
"Keep close to Nature's heart, yourself; and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean." ~ John Muir

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Canada is not even willing to discuss opening the border right now. Also they are not nearly as dependent on tourism dollars as Europe is. I may be wrong but Europe is the #1 tourist destination in the world so it makes sense that they would want to open that up.

Well now that's a fact.
The real question is do we have more time behind us or in front of us."
Or will I live long enough or be too old to...

If it is up the the people "running" this country.....Never!

Just back from Dominican Republic. We are fully vaccinated plus got the required negative COVID test within 3 days of re-entering the USA. At this point I fail to see how we will be any safer in 2022 than we are in 2021. I would gladly take a COVID test within three (3) days of travel to Canada and re-entering USA and bring my vaccination card which DR didn't care about. I cannot understand why the Canadian/USA governments don't see it this way. Based on current logic are we out forever? Is COVID gonna be permanently eradicated in 2022?

jillpine: "If Europe can do it, so can US-Canada, especially for remote border crossings.
Wondering what the metrics need to be to make this happen.
"
Quite strict for the meantime. Probably a percentage of population vaccinated.
Right now travel in Canada is restricted even for residents of Canada.. There is a bunch of links and info on this page which you might find interesting to follow.

There's an interesting article on this in today's NYT from a visiting scholar. It's predicated on expo entail decay. I'll try to find the link.
