Was futzing around with the Strava Heatmap and thought this view of water activity in the BWCA was interesting. Haven't seen it mentioned here before.

I thought there would be more usage on the east side than shown.

Probably not the best sample size. I can't imagine a large portion of BWCAW visitors are using Strava. I'd never even heard of it until this post.

Would be interested to know the date of this sample.
You can see definite congestion in the usual areas. Might be a useful trip planning tool to see what lakes are not over utilized and make your trip to those areas.

Never heard of this either.

Seagull lakes looks like a hot mess!

Cool to see - lots of questions. Never heard of Strava. How does it work?

Very cool, thanks for sharing.

Lakes and routes that known to be popular are definitely reflected on this heatmap.

I have uploaded a few of my routes to Strava, and can actually identify the exact track in a few places.

Here's a link for those interested

Ok I'll fess up. I've been known to log my canoe time in Strava.
Does that make me a stravasshole? I didn't claim anyone's KOM.
Enjoy folks, it is a neat training tool.
