This may be a dumb question....but why with all the permits being snatched up are there still so many available for the Sag entry? This area would seem prime for the base camping that is pretty prevalent right now. I realize there are 17 permits per day, but still seems like there should be more people heading out of there.
The reason I own a 17’ Penobscot is the sight from the water aboard a large canoe one September as we paddled past various windbound parties along Sag’s shores. I’d rather be moving than watching someone else do that. It is not a lake to trifle with.
