We have a old aluminum cook set which works for up to a party 9 (10 in the old days). It has nesting 8 oz cups and plates, 3 pots, frypan lids, and coffee pot. It has seen better days after decades of use. In exploring a replacement I haven't yet found one anything close to a set like this (except old vintage ones like I have). Mirro and others used to make these. The closest I have found so far has been the 9+lb GSI Outdoor Glacier SS set for scouts or the 6+lb Acecamp aluminum tribal 3 pot cook set at about. Lots of sets for 4, we have stuff like that but not really that great for large groups. My complete set barely breaks 5lbs yet is complete enough for some nice gourmet BWCA group cooking. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for a replacement? Thanks.

I use a small and a large GSI pinnacle base camper sets. They all nest inside each other nicely. Take plates and cups separately. I have room to put work gloves, fire starters and dish soap inside the smallest pot.

Does it have to be a set? Must it be aluminum?

Honest questions not argumentative. I have mix and matched for decades and use some that are not considered as cookware. Specifically gold panning pans. the plastic black and green pans double for plates and bowls, the carbon steel work the same way and can be cooked in, even making a substitute Dutch oven by using as a pot lid.
