I am planning a trip to lower Basswood Lake for early September and am interested in others' fishing results.

There are several southern areas of Basswood lake, you need to be more specific. Wind Bay, Hoist Bay, and southern Pipestone Bay are the southernmost areas of Basswood, but are seperated by many miles. Southern Jackfish Bay, Back bay and the area south of Washington island are also in the southern 1/2 of the lake, and also separated by many miles. Or do you mean the southern part of the main body of Basswood outside the motor zone, which runs for aprox 20 miles from Inlet Bay to Upper Basswood falls? It is a 26,000 acre lake.
