Anyone else having trouble finding fuel canisters? Over this last weekend I went to Walmart in Ashland, Superior, and Duluth. Also went to Fleet Farm, Dick's sporting goods in Duluth, and L&M fleet in Ashland. Only saw a single 16oz can at a Walmart which is too big for my needs and even that was gone the next time I stopped by.

Guess I might be stuck using liquid fuel for my upcoming trip unless they have some at Duluth Pack (where I'm picking up my permit).

Anyone else noticing this or is it just because I live in vacationland?

Just exited the BWCA yesterday, we stopped at Piragis after cleaning up to walk around the store, and I overheard one of their employees telling a customer to buy whatever fuel they needed for their upcoming trip soon because everyone in the area is short on supply, and with the now imposed fire ban there would be even more demand due to nobody being able to cook over a fire in the near future

I was just at Solstice Outdoors in Ashland the other day and they had a few cans each in three sizes but lots of the little ones.

I'm a northern indiana guy and we have not seen a shortage. I don't remember a shortage even in the past. I bought a few iso-butanes the other day in Walmart, I'll be goin back for more due to the fire ban.

I recall there being an a cute shortage last year, along with a bunch of other things like freeze dried meals because of the outdoor surge brought on my C19. I would not be surprised to see spot shortages again anywhere near the BWCA. I just got home from REI and kicked myself for not grabbing a canister of white gas for my stove as I am running very low.

Not sure what it is like right now, but Duluth Pack (in Canal Park) had tons of canisters as of July 5th. I'm sure the fire ban has put a dent in their inventory since then, but you could always call ahead and maybe see if they'd put some on hold for you (unlikely, but worth a try).

Oh yes, the Duluth Pack store. I haven't stopped in since Ivanka Trump was in there doing a dog and pony show for the GOP.
I offered a 'We Support Mining' banner for their store. Waiting to hear back.
