Does lighter color clothing really make a difference for bugs and mosquitos?

If I remember correctly, the color blue attracts them the most but I don't know how scientific that claim is....
I wear light blue shirts that have been treated with Permetherin 0.05%. Sawyer makes a permethrin spray that can be purchased at Walmart and available at other stores. If you treat your clothes color it doesn't matter, I would think. To skeeters & ticks, you stink.

Avoid blue. I’ll try to find the photo of my blue pants covered with hundreds of mosquitoes while on the Albany River in NW Ontario. Those pants have never come on another trip with me.

I wear dark blue fishing shirts all the time when canoeing or fishing. I treat my clothes with permethrin. I never have trouble with bugs.
