Going into Baker and most likely heading north in late August. Have not been this way before. Any fishing tips along this route? We are only going 3 nights so wont be going too terribly deep into the woods. Mainly around the temperence lakes maybe. Not particular on what we are fishing for just looking for a few days of relaxing. I appreciate any input. Thank you and safe travels!

We only made it as far as Jack the first week of September a couple years ago. This area is kind of a river system.
We found eating size small mouth bass in moving water where one lake drains into another. IIRC, it was from Jack to Kelly. We were able to catch them on the Zulu rig and leeches under a slip bobber.
My son also caught a small northern pike. It was his first pike.
I have read on this forum that there are eating size walleyes in Jack but we didn't find them.
There is also an abandoned mine off the portage between Jack and Kelly. Might as well check it out if you are on the portage and not in a big hurry. Bring a head lamp or flash light if you do.
Fishing is pretty good on Kelly. There are some nice spots along the shoreline, but we have done our best where the river from Jack flows in to Kelly. We jig with leeches right in and around the current and have caught some great walleyes and smallies.
