10/3/21 to 10/10/21 Beside the fire ban, fire/ fire smoke from the south & east and potential low water levels, is there anything else besides weather I need to be aware of? I've seen some fantastic videos of this route/area and really look forward to a getaway. I also hope not to be fighting for spots, but that's how it works sometimes.
Thanks for any advice. martian

My experience with October trips is that the weather is unpredictable and the lakes are quiet. There's usually very few people out by October (though maybe there will be a surge with the closures we've had.) The weather usually keeps people from moving very far. We've had snow the last couple years those first weeks of October. Our trip in 2019 had 7" on day one of the trip. I haven't personally entered at South Kawishiwi so I can't say what you'll encounter, but I hope you have a great trip! I hope to be in the woods somewhere too with any luck.
Thanks for the reply. I'll definitely be ready for winter camping since I prefer winter camping anyway. I can't wait to get this trip on. I don't necessarily solo by choice, I just happen to be the only crazy bastard I know who enjoys these trips. Cheers! martian
