I read that the final fire ban/closure has been lifted in the BWCA. Here's a good aerial view of the John Ek fire burn area.

I thought it would be worse. Good photo...believe it is looking north. Pointer Lake center-right; the north part of John Ek center left.

I've been looking for a similar photo of the burn scar from the Greenwood Lake fire, but so far I've had no luck. If anyone finds it, could they post it up here? I'd be curious to see the damage as compared to the John Ek fire.

Here's a few. One looking north toward McDougall lakes, one showing the northern tip of Greenwood Lake and the last showing Sand lake, taken while it was still burning but not really growing. It's a big fire and you can't capture it in one pic.
